MARK KENNEDY, the film-maker, scriptwriter, and one of Galway's best loved personalities, who died last year, will be rememberd, celebrated, and honoured, at a special event in the Róisín Dubh.

Daffodil Day committees in Mayo launched Daffodil Day 2017 this week, to support the growing number of people being diagnosed with cancer in Ireland. Friday, March 24 is the 30th anniversary of Daffodil Day and volunteers in Mayo will be out in force once again to raise crucial funds to help those affected by cancer.

He is currently two thirds of the way through his biggest challenge to date, solo rowing the Atlantic Ocean as he takes part in the Talisker Atlantic Challenge Race. He is lying in third position in the race (ahead of many crewed boats) and located 500 nautical miles from the finish in Antigua, in the Caribbean.
